For the highest performance of your new oil lamp we recommend:
- Unscrew the wick assembly and remove from the lamp body.
- Fill the lamp with no more than 2/3 full with lamp oil. DO NOT OVERFILL!
- Check the height of the wick as it comes out of the assembly. It should show about 1/8" above the tube.
- Thread the wick assembly into the lamp and allow at least 15 minutes for the wick to absorb the oil.
- Light the wick and allow to burn for a few minutes to establish the flame.
- If the flame is too high or low, blow the flame out and adjust accordingly.
- This is done by unthreading the assembly, and pulling or pushing the wick to desired height.
- When you are satisfied with flame height, place the chimney on the lamp.
