Oil burns at approximately 3 hours per ounce (based on our smokeless liquid oil) so the amount of time an oil lamp will burn depends on the size of the lamp base and how much oil it can hold.
Please note: Fill the lamp about 2/3 full with lamp oil. DO NOT OVERFILL.
In general:
- LARGE oil lamps (those styles with 10” tall glass chimneys) hold about 20–25 ounces of lamp oil and will burn for about 60–75 hours
- MEDIUM oil lamps (those styles with 6 to 7” tall glass chimneys) hold about 8–10 ounces of oil and will burn for about 24–30 hours
- SMALL oil lamps (those styles with 3.75” tall chimneys) hold about 3 ounces of oil and will burn for about 9 hours
