Step by step directions:
- Remove the chimney by gently pulling upwards while holding the pewter base steady.
- Gently twist the burner counter-clockwise off from the base.
- Fill the lamp about 2/3 full with lamp oil. DO NOT OVERFILL.
- Carefully re-thread the burner, twist it clockwise and hand tighten.
- Adjust the filigree tines to fit glass chimney
- WAIT. Allow 15-20 minutes for the wick to soak and absorb the oil before lighting.
- Carefully light the wick, then put glass chimney in place.
- Adjust the wick height so it is just high enough to hold a flame.
- Enjoy!
A high flame may cause the wick to smoke and may blacken or even break the glass.
Turn off the oil lamp by adjusting the wick height down until the flame goes out.
CAUTION: The glass chimney gets hot quickly. Allow 15-20 minutes of cooling time before handling the glass.
